We Have Stuff Going On!

Updated: 1 day ago

Feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, or just plain exhausted by all the chaos? You're not alone — and we've got just the thing to lift your spirits and let your voice be heard. Join us at one of our Spring and Summer Events and reconnect with what really matters.

First of all -

Every single week, you can get together with brave and like-minded folks at any of these "Stand Out" events. Bring your most cleverly-worded signs (no profanity, please...) and enjoy the company of your fellow humans while also showing Washington County that We Are Not Gonna Take It!

  • Tuesdays in Cherryfield 12:00-1:00 on the Bridge

    Contact: Alison Beedy msabeedy@aol.com

  • Saturdays in Lubec 11:00-12:00 across from the IGA

    Contact: Martha Howell mhowell2@gmail.com 207-240-0134

  • Saturday in Machias 12:00-1:00 Triangle bottom of College Hill

    Contact: Laura Lander  laurallander@gmail.com   207-859-2633

Next, join us on June 14th, 5:00-7:30 PM for the Norm Nelson Community Service Award Dinner.

It will be an Old-Fashioned Maine Saturday Night Supper, with beans & franks, coleslaw & potato salad, brown bread and yeast rolls, pies pies and pies. This year's award will be PRESENTED by Maine Sec. of State Shenna Bellows and AWARDED to the fabulous, the amazing, the hardest-working lady we know: Rep. Anne Perry. REGISTER HERE so we can be sure of enough food and seats.

WHEN:  Saturday, June 14th, 5 pm to 7:30 pm

WHERE:  Centre Street Congregational Church

                 9 Center Street, Machias

QUESTIONS: Contact us - washingtoncountymainedems@gmail.com

Finally, our SUMMER EVENTS.

We need volunteers so folks can see that there are plenty of Democrats in Washington County! Please, join us even if you can only spare a few hours. We need help with set-up and/or tear-down, manning booths to connect with voters and walking a few parade route (because we have a new banner and we are coordinating with other like-minded activist groups so we will have a real showing).

It’s a great chance to get to know other like-minded neighbors, make new friends, and engage with the community.
