SENATE RACE INFORMATION

Please know that we are providing as much accurate information as possible, as soon as possible regarding the process, date, time, and location for meetings involving the election of a new candidate for Senate.

We would ask that you go to https://mainedems.org/senate-race/ and READ the specifics there, as they will be providing the most up-to-date information.

What we can tell you as of Monday, July 13th:

• The Washington County Dems meeting to ELECT DELEGATES will be this weekend, either Saturday the 18th OR Sunday the 19th. We have not yet been able to confirm a location, but will announce it as soon as we are able.

• You will want to REGISTER for this meeting in advance - which you must do at the MDP website link above. Registering in advance will speed the check-in time for all of us.

• Every voter who was a Registered Democrat in Washington County as of JUNE 9th (date of the Primary) is elegible to run to be a delegate. You must REGISTER your intent at the MDP website link above PRIOR TO 5:00 PM, July 15th, 2026. Please READ the information on the registration form carefully.

• Every voter who was a Registered Democrat in Washington County as of the Primary is eligible to VOTE for Washington County delegates. We have 8 (eight) delegate openings and 2 (two) alternates.

• You must attend IN PERSON to be considered as a delegate, and to vote for delegates. No online or proxy voting is available due to security concerns.

• Elected Delegates MUST ATTEND the Special Nomination Convention in person. No online or proxy voting is available. Go to the website link above for complete Convention information.

• Only elected Delegates, members of the State Committee, and MDP Officials and staff can attend the Convention. However, a LIVESTREAM will be available.

• We are going to need DOLLARS and VOLUNTEERS to get this campaign up and running as quickly as possible. The energy and enthusiasm for defeating Collins is huge and we plan to harness that as much as possible. Remember that everyone on the Washington County Democratic Committee is a VOLUNTEER. We would LOVE for you to join us!
