
MEET CHRISTINA THERRIEN
MAINE STATE SENATE CANDIDATE - DISTRICT 6

Christina is originally from Oakland, Maine and graduated from Messalonskee High School. She began college courses in business administration and accounting at Kennebec Technical College and continued through Northern Maine Community College. Christina attended the municipal leadership program through the Edmund Muskie School of Public Service and the Maine Leadership Program (Sigma Class 2010-11).
Christina's career in community and public service spans 25 years. She began in the Skowhegan town office in 1993 and has held positions in Pittsfield and Clinton. She was the Town Manager of Machias first from 2001-2006, and served as Town Manager of Madawaska until 2015 before returning to Machias again. One of her proudest accomplishments as Machias Town Manager is working collaboratively and diligently to secure the Veterans’ Home for Washington County.
Through those years Christina has worked as an Economic Development Director, Grant Writer, Tax Collector, Treasurer, Motor Vehicle Agent, Deputy Town Clerk, Road Commissioner, Airport Commissioner, Welfare Director, Harbor Master, and Public Health Officer.
Christina is the proud mother of a daughter, Victoria, and Victoria's husband Traver. She also has two wonderful grandsons, Jonah and Ethan, a very special niece, Sarah, and a great-nephew, Jayden. She currently serves as the Machias Rotary Club President.
Past Boards and Offices: NMDC Executive Board, NMDC Loan Committee, Machias Rotary Club( Sargeant-at-arms, Treasurer, President), NMCC Advisory Board, Madawaska Snowmobile Club, Machias Bay Area Chamber Board of Directors, and various other organizations.
